Councilmember Christi Cox is a native of York County and is a Republican representing District 5. Christi and her husband Michael reside in District 5 along with their three children Courtnie, Kendall and Porter. Christi graduated from the University of South Carolina Honors College in 1996 and earned her Juris Doctor, with honors, from U.S.C. School of Law in 2002. She is a founding member of Hamilton, Martens, Ballou and Carroll, LLC, a law firm located in Rock Hill, which practices primarily in the areas of civil litigation and defense. Christi and her family are active members of Neely’s Creek A.R.P. Church. Christi is committed to serving her hometown and has volunteered in various capacities on numerous local and state boards and non-profit service organizations. Her most current volunteer work includes her service as Secretary of The Haven Men’s Shelter, Treasurer of the York County Bar Association, Board Member for the S.C. Board of Accountancy, and her favorite post as a coach of her daughter’s youth basketball team.
